I am planning to buy a lens locally and noticed this on the rear element. Any idea what is this? First I thought that it was fungus but after some closer inspection, it looks something else. Another clue is, I noticed some green fluid leakage at mount.
Any idea?
Thanks

That could be fungus or it could be commencement of separation. I lean gently in favor of the latter possibility.
The green fluid you mentioned, if from an internal source, is likely (former) helicoid grease. Of course it could be from an external source and if so it could be anything.
I have a Hexanon that leaks a tiny bit of blue helicoid grease, though not at the rear of the lens. |

That looks to me like oil or grease on the glass, it could also be separation but I would go more with some kind of oily residue on the back element.
Don't think is fungi. |

Actually both the side of the rear element is clean. A local repair shop opened and cleaned it. This is inside the rear element, so it's likely to be the separation _________________ Few Film & Digital pics here https://www.facebook.com/frozenents |

I think that is edge of the coating. The edge along the perimeter has been got under, then corroded by grease (or fungus).
Bokeh highlights may be dark circles, similar to mirror lens, not as much. _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

Looks very much like Delamination. The glue between two lens elements no longer hold the elements fully together. _________________ Camera modification, repair and DIY - some links to look through: http://www.4photos.de/camera-diy/index-en.html
