Fungus? Coating problem? What is this, you think?

This is my Meyer Telemegor 180mm/5.5. It has some sort of mark on the front lens, I'm not sure what it is. I have tried to polish with lenscloth, but to no success. Now I'm thinking of selling the lens and I feel I have to describe this problem in the ad, eventhough I'm not sure this affects the images.

The problem is almost not visible if you look at the lens from front right on, you have to look at it in the right angle to really see it.
I hope it's not fungus?

Fungus or remain stuff after fungus attack or result of polish LOL.It will impact picture quality make it to contrast less.

Ok, not much idea to sell it then I think. Probably should keep it and play with it Wink

Yes, better to keep it.

I have a semi-radical / stupid suggestion... although this is something i've already tried.

Polish the damage with a polishing wax (you know... for cars...) it will take the damage (and coating!) right off. but as attila says, the coating isn't such a huge deal Very Happy at the very least, you'll get rid of that ugly mark which really lowers the contrast.

I have similar problem. Something strange on the inner side of the front glass. I thought it could be fungus, but this is probably something different. The lens even doesn't smell by fustiness (I mostly discern fungus even before I unpack the lens - just from the smell Embarassed ).

But what could this be?

Thanks guys, will try Wink

Actually I've noticed that it's really, really hard to find focus with this telemegor.

It looks a lot like the fungus on a lens I returned:

Perhaps lens cleaning fluid went inside and remain this spots.
