Fuji Pro 800z

I'm in a slump and won't be posting any more shots till I can come up
with something completely new. These are ideas for fall shots using the
800z film and Koni Omega Rapid with 60 wide lens:

swamp, Monte Sano

I like this film, true colors (at least on my monitor). Used no saturation,
just curves, and no color correction, either.

Walmart has raised the prices on film processing and since the two rolls
I got back had roller marks and dirt spots, I'm back with the ma and pa
place with same day service from now on. Wallies will get the slide biz,
that's all.

Will be people shots next time around, I've already made plans.

Nothing worse than a slump Bill - especially when one has such good gear to shoot with. :\

A slump isn't always a bad thing, as sooner or later the way out becomes obvious: more photography in more different situations.

The first swamp shot has a lot of interesting stuff going on, with the 800 film you must have been stopped down quite a bit.

TF and Bob, thanks, guys, too kind!

Nesster, yes, I think it was f16, thanks.

I've been having a string of disappointments daisy chained together,
lately. I'll drive 40 miles to a place to take vista and waterfalls shots
and by the time I get there the scudding clouds have filled in the sky
and stole the sun and I'm sitting in my car staring at 3 cameras loaded
with slow film and no tripod. No matter, the colors would be bleh, anyway.
I seem to be very good at doing double exposures, poor metering, poor
focus, it just goes on...

While waiting for two rolls to arrive I got in from Amazon and ebay
a bunch of Sophie Marceau DVDs. Since some of these are in French only
(with Korean and Chinese subtitles which I find extremely unhelpful) I'm
going to be taking French courses at night. My one semester of college
French is simply not up to task. One of the great beauties of my time:

BTW, can anyone identify the camera she is holding? Looks like a Pentax
medium format off her right hip:

yeah I'm being bad but won't be posting much in the next two weeks
or so. Will see if some things pan out by then...

Tell me about it, I think it is a constant with me -- I went on a wee trip with our youngest... I packed: one shoe each of two different sneakers. Both the left shoe. A cable release that did not work on either of the cameras I needed it for. The push thing didn't go far enough out. Oh and after loading the damn Box Tengor I promptly forgot which shutter setting was which, and due to the double exposure prevention thing I couldn't even sacrifice a frame to find out. This with a camera so easy even a child could use it. I've opened the backs of too many cameras lately before the film's rolled back... on and on it goes.

So, a 2 week sabbatical? Sounds good.

Sounds like me Bill except that in my case I'm stuck at work while the sun shines and by the time the weekend comes, it's dull flat grey overcast skies with or without rain. I've actually gotten into the habit now of NOT loading film unless I know I'm going to be able to shoot something worthwhile - that way I can stick it back in the fridge if necessary.

Been like this for months... Evil or Very Mad

Still, the 2009 Leuchars Airshow is on next Saturday with aircraft starting to fly in from Wednesday onwards and the weather forecast looks quite good at the moment. Cool

Like Nesster says, something else usually comes along as an alternative...

As for your "finger trouble"; we all go through that from time to time so don't give up.

And finally, Sophie Marceau is smokin'.

That is, of course, the Pentax 6x7 with the wooden grip attached. Cool camera, but I doubt it is suitable for Sophie Marceau Wink

Thanks for all the comments, fellas!

@Nesster, I hope the both of us get into some better luck very soon! Laughing

Bob, looking forward to those air show shots!

TF and Attila, thanks guys, too kind.

Klaus, thanks, that's my favorite shot out of this last batch, too, but
I get more comments on flickr for this mistake:

Taken with the Ricohflex Dia L and Fuji NPS 160 film (thanks, Jussi!)

Peter, you get a LOT of extra credit if you can ID the camera in her right
hand, (not the cameras behind her left.) It's not a GW series 6x9 Fuji, but
it looks like a 6x9 something.

The two pond pictures are excellent - first one especially!

Thanks, Orio. Smile I'm off to try something completely different, will see
what shakes. This fall will be slide film only and the Koni's. I will try
the Provia 400X in 120, curious if anyone has tried that film.

That double exposure with teh Rudbeckias is special indeed! By coincidence?
