I have the Pentax M42 lens to K mount adapter and do not get focus confirmation on my K10D.

Somewhere in the Custom Settings, you must have "Fl with S lens used" set to 2 to have focus confirmation.

No, thats K100D. The only thing you need to set is "Allow Aperture Ring" with K10D. What you do need however, is to have the "Autofocus on halfpress" activated. And to be able to use Focus trapping with the K10D you need to short the golden contact on the camera mount, this is not needed with K100D though. Use aluminuim foil and tape if your lense don't do it.

Removing the whole mount is, how can I put it?, a "clean" way.
I like the idea to "manufacture" a "new" kind of camera.

Me too!
If one thinks about it, it makes more sense than the adapter thing, if one has a large range of lenses.
Adapters are always a risk, I almost lost a Eur 400 lens because of one of them.

But is there a M42 adapter for C/Y? I'd hate to lose the M42's because of a C/Y mod.

Yes. I am in fact planning to buy one in order to be able to use my Zenitar on the Contax RX.
