The FR series is (was) wonderful! I had the privelege of shooting with an FR-1 years ago, and the one thing I remember was the "feel" of the shutter release button - smooth, solid, and "feathery"...

Film advance failure, surely a problem to be overcome with a BIG hammer!, but seriously it looks ok and I hope you get it, I've got each of the FR series and they are all great cameras. Found this that may be of help to me, Mattias, but hopefully not you Katastrofo !! http://www.cdegroot.com/photo-yashica/fr1-repair/

Sounds scarry Wink

Soon I'm of to fetch my new J-7 wth DX 50mm/1.7 m42.
Still waiting to get the adapter shipped from china to try the lens you sent me on digital - but I've tried it on the FR-II and it feels very nice. Seems to be very good buildquality on the Yashica-lenses.

On my FR-1 (have it for some moths now) the exposure counter doesn't work also. It counts to 18 or so, but the film is already at the end. Not a big problem, just advance the film an when it does not move easily, it is at the end. No doubt. My cam seems to be not so much used by the former owners, even the leatherette coating is like new. But that mirror damping foam is overaged, it comes down in nasty little pieces of black material, sticks on the mirror....or walks somewhere into the camera body...i have to replace that soon. Everything else is just fine.

Thanks, Poilu, I'm wondering how good the lens is. It's not an ML but a
DSB model. Looks pretty big on the cam, too. Hummm.
