This kitlens is the only AF lens I got for my sony's, so can't compare but I am amazed by it's performance every time.

Post-processed from JPEG, can't get the raw files to open Mad

The kit lens always comes in for a lot of criticism, and not rightly deserved, i have the 18-55 black on my nex7 and it is a brilliant lens especially with the lens profile enabled.
These are all very good, getting 16/18mm for the price these are is good
