Here is something for all the Minolta buffs - you might find these pictures interesting.
My son arrived home yesterday with something he had found and thought it might interest me.
Complete with hard case and leather cases for all parts.
Minolta SR-1 with Auto-Rokkor-PF 55mm f1:1.8.
Auto Tele Rokkor-QE 100mm f1:3.5
and a Weston Master III exposure meter.
All in near mint condition.
Minolta even had their own branded silica-gel satchets Very Happy

OH

Oops, I meant this to go into Manual Focus Lenses and somehow I ended up here.
Perhaps Atilla could move it - my apologies for my clumsiness - Tom

Now that's just plain downright gorgeous. What is that thing on the front left of the camera? A bracket for an external meter, maybe? I notice that the 100mm also came with a nice looking metal hood too. Did the 55mm come with one also? Oh, and what's in the deep Minolta accessory case?

.

Yes, Michael, the bracket takes a coupled light meter that engages the pin on top of the shutter speed dial and enables the shutter speeds to be controlled via the light meter.
And yes, the 55mm has its own cased metal hood. I forgot to take it out of the case.
Cheers

I'm sure that he would if I asked.
It is not a compact camera and is bigger than a Pentax MX.
About the same as my Canon EF, perhaps a tad smaller.
Cheers

Thanks for the comparison however I am unfamiliar with how big the canon is so I will take your word for it.. Laughing It's just the body styling is so neat on the Minolta with the rounded edges it looks quite modern.

OK, this might help.
Here it is beside my wife's Nikon D5100
It is longer, and heavier of course.

Yeah, the old Minolta SRs I've always thought were prettier than their replacements -- the SRT series. As for size, just think of a Pentax K1000 or Spotmatic, or a Nikkormat, or a Canon FTb -- any of those are very close in size and weight to the old SR.
