|

Well, quite busy these days with enormous amounts of work, not much dedication to the important things
However, I was able to finish the first roll on the Yashica Lynx the past week end. I got today the pictures from the lab, and I got quite impressed. Good saturation, nice sharpness...
And what it's more important, the F/16sunshine way rules!!!
Shot with Superia 200:
(Andy, thanks again, I'm enjoying it a lot)
Best regards,

Really really good results Jes!
And needless to mention, enchanting scenery.
1- hit strong on the head the laboratory guys, they are ruining your negatives by scratching them
Seriously, let them know, they have to take more care!
2- place a bomb or two under those horrible hotels on the coast, far distant in picture 4, they are ruining your beautiful landscape, these things make me very angry _________________ _

Thanks, Orio.
The scratching on the film was not made by the lab, they use to work very fine. I did them. The camera has a mechanical problem on the sprocket and I didn't notice it before putting the roll.
When I ended the roll, I was unable to rewind the film, the sprocket got blocked, so I had to take the film out the hard way... I'm afraid I did the scratching when pulling the film out.
It's a pity but I won't be able to use it again until I find a replacement sprocket.
So I'm concentrating on the Electro 35 and the Minister D...
Best regards,

Hi Cosmin.
Thanks, it's a nice Yashica IC Lynx 5000 if I'm not wrong (the labels fell out). It's a coupled rangefinder with a yashinon lens f/1.8 and speeds of 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1.15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2. 1 sec and 'B'.and a self timer. This model comes with a battery powered light meter but it doesn?t depend on it to work. I've been using the f/16 sunshine rule and table and the shots are quite accurate in terms of light.
Now I'm working on the Electro 35 that has a faster lens (f/1.7). Hope to have time to try it on the next week-end.
Best regards,

Well, just a few lucky shots...
To be honest, I fired several times with the lens cap on... I trend to forget this is a rangefinder and I cannot see through the lens...
Best regards.

Jes these look great. I'm sorry to hear about the sprocket, I have had this problem also once. The model is indeed a lynx 5000 if it has shutter speeds to 1/1000. I hope you can repair the sprocket, it seems the results from this unit show it is otherwise very good. |
