I bought this about 3 months ago, and it has been to San Francisco, then to Vienna, before making it's way back to me here in the UK. It's an Asahi 58mm f2. Here are a few initial shots with it on my Canon 5DSR body, taken in the garden (a little hurried, but I was very excited to finally get one). All taken at f2.8 and ISO100, and all but one cropped from the originals.

Image #7 below is a closeup one a shot of the cobweb, but slightly out of focus. The colours from the spider silk look really cool, and I've not seen an effect like that before.

This the famous Sonnar-Takumar, known for its creamy bokeh. Congrats!!

Thanks Klaus. The flower pictures are beautiful. I love the water stream images in your link too - shows a similar effect to the spider silk in mine.

I was hugely surprised by how small this lens was when it arrived. Beautifully made as well.

Great character of lens, indeed.
