Just a short story how this photographs come ...

Actually I made this shots in 2007,
just when I bought my first DSLR camera.

HDR was quite a hype at that time - I had to try it.
So I went to the "Freilichtmuseum Großgmain",
which is a open air Museum with old, original Farm houses.
I made several exposures from different scenes.

Back home I renderd the stuff together with Photomatix Pro,
which was giving horrible results. Alignment of the images
was very bad (I had a very bad tripod that time) and
the tonemapping/halos etc. was
really disastrous, so I gave up with HDR (I really dislike HDR stuff in general)

2 days ago I opened the thread with fotomachi's antwerp DRI
church shots. He was writing about the LR Enfuse plugin.
I liked the photographs very much and downloaded the
full version (with a donation) and
came back to the frames whoch I made 2 years ago...

first impression:
- excellent software
- easy to handle
- fast workflow
- image alignment is FANTASTIC
- "cheap"

here the first results:
(there was no lightning in the rooms besides small windows, some of them
were really dark)

yes, the results look quite natural. That's what I like most about the program, next to the fact that it very easy to handle ...

I just made another test with this software: with different light sources (different strenght and type of light).

(I should have made another exposure for the strong light-balls Wink )

Very nice looking results. Very natural. Seems like a software to use, definitely, for interiors like these (and the churches)

These are really rather good, Tobias. Much more what HDR should be used for and not for
the weird skies/strange buildings so beloved of the HDR-ists.

What a performance Tobias. It surely seems as though that program is a very sensible and sensitive performer. These are breathtaking

Hi Tobias,

that looks really great. Crystal clear and a wide dynamic.

Anyway - did you try it with the latest version of Photomatix too ? They changed a lot in the meantime - especially for the tone mapping etc.

No, since then I haven't touched Photomatix any more Wink ...
I am quite happy with this LR Enfuse plugin, so think I will stick to it for some time and exploreall the functions .

Great work. It's strange to see a room with windows looking out on green plants instead of blown highlights. Very nice. I must try this, I've avoided HDR in the past because its usually so yuk.

the first HDR I've ever seen that provides what the technique promises. Super result.

Thank you for reinstilling hope.

Thanks Jesito, PaulC, Nesster ...

By the way, ... for those who don't use Lightroom. This Enfuse software is also available as command-line stand alone program.

Thanks Tobias.

It seems it is included in the software "Hugin", with enblend.

Yes, thanks.

In order to use the LR Enfuse plugin one has to install also the Enblend program and link it with the LR Plugin.

Interesting is also:
... "Enfuse can also be used to build extended depth-of-field images, by blending a focus stack."
