I also got two Hexanon F-mount 85/1.8's.
one's SN is 5120076 another is 5120400,obviously the former has more blod letters then latter.

No 5120028 sold on Yahoo Japan in November 2015, and its inscriptions were in normal font, with capital letters like so: Konishiroku, not KONISHIROKU.

I think, for time being, that's a good decision.

I would, however, clearly encourage you to ...

1) either publish your own Konica stuff
2) or to provide Chinese translations made in accordance and in honest cooperation with the original author / copyright holder

If you need some help, don't hesitate to contact me via PM.

Stephan

The text is mainly stolen from the A. Buhl (Buhla.de) website, the images are partly mine ...
Everything of course without any hint about the true source ...

So he was lying at us about his intentions ... not a exactly well educated !

Stephan,

After this thread was started, I contacted Mr Hexanon.net and exchanged a few emails with him. From the outset, he was very receptive to my concerns and quick to respond to my objections.

For the record, I authorized him to translate and lift anything he pleases from my site on the condition that he indicates where it came from. From what I can see, material from my site is now identified and even a direct link to my page is provided in the case of translated text. Should I come across something that has not been so identified, I would ascribe it to an error of omission, rather than to a deliberate appropriation of my work, the more so as his site is fairly extensive and I know from experience how difficult it is to keep track of details in a consistent manner when building an extensive site.

I am perfectly satisfied that his are not the actions of someone “shamelessly stealing intellectual property” – accusatory terms that strike me as precipitous and over the top. Furthermore, your claim that there is not “any hint about the true source” is incorrect. In fact, you and Andreas Buhl are mentioned repeatedly as sources on his site, even if those attributions are made rather imprecisely.

In the event, it may be useful to read his “Webmaster Statement”, especially the part about copyright (the Chrome translation is fairly comprehensible): http://www.hexanon.net/announce/ I don’t know if the form of this statement meets legal requirements, but as a statement of intent, it couldn’t be clearer. IMO the man wants to “do it right”, but as he operates in a culturally and legally distinct environment, I suspect his notions of what the term means differs from ours. However it may be it is not equivalent to ill-intent.

This is a young man whose passion is akin to ours, and I think the constructive thing to do here would be to reach out and help him place the proper ownership attributions to some of the material on his site. I have been successful in this and I see no reason why you shouldn’t be.

Cheers,
jj

What a commendable overview on the issue.
It's always great to see how people seek to resolve their grievances before escalating.

TBH, 10-15 years ago the intellectual property concept was completely foreign to me and my peers.
While one has every right to his own work, escalating in a confrontational manner doesn't really benefit anyone, when the other party is able to understand only the confrontation part of your message.

So I can easily see, how a righteous claim can be perceived as an unfounded attack, taken personally, and result in a rage-quit with a site takedown.
From his point of view, he just tried to provide fellow photo-geeks with knowledge.

Just my 2cents.

stevemark:

It is my mistake. I confound your pics and ysyyu's because they are in same post. Bye the way, I got ysyyu's permission for using his pics.

I have delete your 85/1.8 pics on my site.

I have post my email (si_chow@msn.com) on many pages of Hexanon.net, you should notice that.

Please judge me or Chinese people after reading my announce carefully.

If you find other pages making you unhappy, contact me directly. I think that is a better way to solve problems.

Sorry to make you angry again.
