The only flaw in that is the lifespan of the new cameras. I have had my k10D for about half a year and it already is up at 25000 exposures. In 2 years time, I have passed the 100.000 exposures that the camera is "expected" to last.

Whats the development and printing cost on 100,000 exposures for 35mm film?

Alot. But you will not do 100.000 exposure any day soon with a analog camera. The digital workflow is different and thats why a digital camera will not last for as long as a analog camera. Ontop of that ofcourse there are parts that break in a digital camera that an analog camera don't have, the sensor for example has a limited number of exposures too.

I saw thew new cameras with 21 or more mp, and his prices.
They duplicate -or more- the mp of the cam that the majority of us have now.
The future? Wait to the prices go down while others cams with much more mp appear in the market? Stay behind for ever?
Wait!! This is the order to the poor men. Are we?

I swapped my 50d for a 40d which is much sharper . What a waste

The 50D was basically ususable for me at ISO 1600. But even at ISO 800 there was considerable noise, whereas the 40D still looks good at ISO 1600

When you compare the 40D/50D house images (RAW) from imaging-resource in ACR you will see that the 24-105L has troubles keeping up with the 50D but shines on the 40D
