Click here to see on Ebay

Is this lens any good for the Panny G1? Probably too heavy and looks silly to use.

You said it already!

I have tried to take these old type motorized zooms apart and usually lose the iris..... Which is fine if you want a good low light lens, but these are partly mechanical. Only ok if you want a steam punk sort of look. Very cumbersome and likely to have loads of dust as the lens is in two parts, hence the iris loss.

Not seen this type of lens though. Always buy one like this if it is cheap enough, there may be ways of fizing it up with new iris and mount?

Pass unless you like messing about with lenses?
