First manual lens I've owned that truly fit my daily needs like a glove. Lens that fit naturally and simply worked as I'd want a lens to.
***I do have one huuuuge question- does anyone know what year this guy is from/what version/revision specifically?

Ah that's the problem with many of us as we don't have the top lenses to compare our lenses with...it would be nice if some rich member had a collection of the best 24mms to do a group test  On a film camera (full frame) the Sigma 24mm is very good, although mine is not as good as a 35mm flek for close ups.

I went with the very helpful up-thread post most kindly provided me by DigiChromeEd.
Ed managed to ferret out a post by marcusBMG over on Pentax Forums. marcusBMG had owned both lenses. His post offers a fine comparison write up.
