I think it works. When a lens is stopped down just a little you will only see the full aperture shape in the middle. And parts of it in the edges. |

There are two aperture modes. In the first case, the aperture blades are completely removed, in the second case they stick out slightly. In both modes, the aperture value is F/2. |

Wow! Really beautiful images here - excellent use of this special lens. I've been fascinated by the Domiron since I first saw it... both by the wonderful design as well as the unique rendering, when it's used creatively. _________________ ---

How does the Domiron compare eith the first Pancolar 50/2 made by Zeiss?
I have the last and the soul of both seem to be very similar to me.
Any opinion? |

I used to have both of these lenses. They are completely different. Absolutely.
And the biggest difference is the bokeh.
More or less similar in character to Domiron - Kuribayashi Orikkor 50/2. But it is less sharp and less contrasting. |

If you do not pursue the goal of obtaining a similar result (this is impossible), then I would pay attention to Panсolar 55/1.4. |

I finally got a Domiron as well and as expected, it's a lot of fun!
That being said it's not making the magical images shown by some (significantly more skilled people than me) here on it's own. So my first attempts are, well... first attempts.

It appears to me a lot of the incredible quality of your shots has to do with excellent focusing and composition, but I got no idea how you get that level of clarity wide open - very impressive. What camera are you using the lens on?
