Works perfectly
There is only one small mark on the grip material, which may not even noticed (black on black). And the unavoidable slight marks on the bottom, where the tripod mounts.
For the rest it looks exactly like new.
The LCD (most important part) is totally perfect, not even the slightest mark.

The price is 400 Euros if you pay with bank transfer or 420 if you pay with Paypal.
You can choose a bonus:
- either free insured shipping to Europe
- or the kit lens 18-55 (literally NEVER used) for free - kit lens is version II (slightly better than version I)

You will also receive as a gift the viewfinder magnifier for Nikon cameras that also works perfectly on the 400D. Value is about 30-40 Euros (if you can find one) and it really helps with manual focusing.

What is included in the release:

- the 400D

- the original box

- the instructions

- the original Canon strap

- body cap

- battery charger unit

- 2 or 3 batteries (I have 3, but currently can find only two, will have to search for third, if I can find it it's yours) note that the camera in shop only comes with one battery

- a 512 Mb compact flash card

- the kit lens 18-55 never used (only if you pay for shipping)

- the viewfinder magnifier (value 30-40 euros)

This is also what will go on Ebay, if the camera is not sold here.

But especially for you of this forum, I will also throw in, as additional gift, my Kaleinar-5N 100mm f/2.8, Nikon mount.

Ok, that is my offer. I think is a very good one. Let me know.
On Sunday, if the camera is not sold, it will go on Ebay.

Wow! Now that makes me think... Should I afford another cam? Hmmm... I've got time until Sunday.

Florent, you are interested? OK, have a go. I am not sure if I will take it. If you want to buy, go for it.

Florent asks to know how many shots I have taken with the camera. Is there any way to find out?

I'm interested but will make my final decision in 24h from now, so if anyone wants to take it within this delay, I'll pass - just feel free to buy it.

I don't want to rush Flor or anyone into a decision.
So here's what I will do, the camera is reserved to Florent until tomorrow evening.
If in the meantime someone else wants to "book it" in case Florent decides to give up, he can do it.

About the incremental number: yes Canon records it in the filename, but the problem is that I have reset the count several times on both my machines, because I once found out (the hard way) that if my 400D and 5D have shoot files with the identical name, the second to be downloaded into computer will erase the first downloaded without warning Shocked Mad
So everytime they become too near in numbering, I reset one or the other to zero.
THis way I am now unable to tell how many pictures. I am sure that I have made a full round with the 400D (that is, more than 10000 pictures), but I don't know about the second round. I don't think I have completed, but as I said, the filename can not help because I had to reset the numbering several times after 100 or 200 photos.

The shutter actuations should be recorded in the extended exif data. There's freeware that will read all exif data from a shot but I haven't tried it. If you have a flickr acount and show exif data it's on there.

On Canon EOS XXXD and XXD, it is not available publicly.

I thave to figure it out myself : if anyone has an EOS XXXD or XXD camera and knows actual shutter release number (aprox.), would you please give me a fresh RAW file from it ?

I don't know either how much I did shot with my 350D Embarassed

Orio, I'm sorry but I made the decision to not take your camera. Hope you will sell it soon !

It is a very good price! The cheapest price for a new 400D here in Germany is €649,- with the kit lens (but not with a Kaleinar Wink).

Still, chances are not very high that I buy it, Orio. Sorry!
But I will think about it until Sunday...

Orio, if you have to sell it on ebay. How much do want for the Kaleinar-5N alone?

Not much, because it has some cleaning marks around the edge of the rear lens. They do not show themselves in the pictures, but they may make open wide shots a bit softer than a normal lens.

The lens is usually sold around 80 Euros on Ebay so I think I will be happy with half price (40).
