Good choice! But what I've seen so far on my sample shots the Voigtlaender is most probably the best wide open, although it's my fastest lens in 35mm; i.e. not even slow lenses like the Topcor can beat it also fully open when I look at the fully open crops of both lenses. _________________ Thomas Bernardy

It's not bad either. Although it's quite a heavy and bulky beast. _________________ Thomas Bernardy

Rick1779,
You are absulotely right. The Minolta is 12 gr. heavier than the Super Takumar (410 vs. 398).
However, I don't have it. It seems to be a little bit less sharp than the "normal" F 2.8 version when stopped down. At least that are the findings from reports on the web. That was actually the reason why I never tried to find one, even in the "cheaper times", some years ago.
However, I am just preparing my big private 35mm lens test.... _________________ Thomas Bernardy
