Hi, I found an exposed roll of Verichrome pan in an old camera, the size is 127 which I believe was discontinued in 1995. The camera is a Ferrania Tanit from the 50's so I reckon the film may have been there since perhaps early 70's
Any ideas how I may develop it? I have some ID11 and don't really fancy buying more developer. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

Kodak has film datasheets online for many, if not all, of their discontinued film. I searched for "Kodak Verichrome Pan" and found this:
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/professional/support/techPubs/f7/f7.pdf
A few months ago, I bought some 127 verichrome for the spools and backing. I shot one roll, Looked up the data for Verichrome and HC-110 (B) and used that data for processing with LegacyPro L110. If I wanted to use a different developer that was not listed, look at other film / developer combinations that give the same time/temperature and go from there.
Digitaltruth has this: http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php?doc=veri_old

Thanks for these links Phil, the datasheet means nothing to me, but the dev times from digital truth are useful. Of course this film could be 40 years old, 8 or 9 minutes in ID11 any suggestion if extra time would be needed for this old film? _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Hi Phil
I'll post the results on this thread when I dev the film, I have a couple of films to finish and I'll make up a batch of ID11 for them when I've finished. Thanks for asking. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

I have some rolls of 127 size Verichrome Pan dated 1978 in my fridge -- given to my Boy years ago with his Yashica LM TLR camera -- he took one roll and I processed in D76 1+1 for 10 % longer than times given and it came out well - we rated it DOWN though -- I think we rated it at 50 ASA. _________________ Long Live REAL PHOTOGRAPHY ! |

Did anything ever come of this? Results? I've got a an exposed roll from someone else that I grabbed for the heck of it. Probably crap on there, but hey, worth a shot, no? AFAIK, it's from the 70's. It's 120 though so I at least have that working for me.
From the datasheet it sounds like TMax is the way to go for me, as none of those listed are my developer of choice, and it comes in reasonably sized/priced options. Sadly, just before repatriating I poured out an almost full bottle I intended to use but just didn't have the time to. |
