the rear glass from the aperture towards the rear is made up of 3 elements. the very rear is 2 pieces of glass with a spacer separating them from the forward rear element. the very rear element is called vortex glass. this rear element has fungus. I am wondering does any body know if I can separate that rear element. to clean that fungus out of there. the fungus look like miniature spider webs just slightly visible. I completely disassembled this lens and cleaned it. I was not sure what to do with this rear glass any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. see the rear element has a coating on it sides. any help please. there is not a lot of information on this lens.

Klaus these are very hard to come buy here in north America. I purchased a 105mm plus a 80 mm. they both have fungus in between the glass of the rear element. I also have a 65 mm on the way that I purchased. not sure if it has fungus I hope not. I will show you where it is and could some one tell the name of this type of glass. it is a doublet of sorts. I will load the images so you can see the fungus in between the glass rear element. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends how they were glued together, most likely as it is a newer lens type using some sort of
NORLAND UV cured cement. Very hard to take apart, needs some rather dangerous solvents.
Read here about it: http://jimshomeplanet.com/lensglue.html Metylene chrloride is rather
dangerous for one's liver and shoudl only be used in a professional lab environment.

There is a company offering services for that: http://www.focalpointlens.com/ as they
are re-glue and center the elements afterwards, a tricky thing to do without a collimator!

Klaus thank you so much. I will wait until the 65mm gets here. I also have a 135mm coming. once I inspect them all. I will package the ones up with issues. I am going to contact focal point. I will let them fix these lens. again thank you so much.

You know that? http://photocornucopia.com/1057.html

I knew one of the designers of these lenses, Prof. Lynn Jones (VP of Burleigh Brooks Optics and member of the lens design team for all Computar lenses) unfortunately deceased a while ago.
