This was from the first roll of my previously owned Rollei 6006.
It's maybe not technically the greatest image, but it was
significant to me, because of the nice rendering of the Rollei
Planar lens, even with an extender attached. Even at f:4, the
sharpness was apparent at the point of focus (the pistils in the
center of the flower).

And, of course - Velvia colors! Shocked Laughing

Nice composition, Larry. Even the title is illustrative, the nice bokeh really suggest a green sea. I love the Velvia colouring.
Thanks for sharing!

Jes.

Beautiful photo, the bokeh is fantastic and certainly the composition too. Very deep, exciting 3D feeling, very nice pic Laurence!

hi Laurence!

It's not been possible to explain to my daughter that this is NOT a PAINT but PHOTOGRAPH! Smile

SUPERB!

Agree, beautiful comp and colors! Laurence, are you sorry you no longer
have the Rollei? Would love to find extension tubes for the Koni Omega
I just acquired, but they are rare as hen's teeth.

Hi Jes! Even if the compo is "so so", I too love the Velvia colors. They seem dense and creamy. Thank you!

Thank you, csaba. I too like the depth of the green here.

Bill, I really loved the Rollei - but only when it was working. Confused The system is among the best out there. However, the costs became quickly prohibitive from repair. Also, I took a look at the future costs to use the system - the cost of lenses and accessories are simply through the roof!

So, even though the images it rendered were great, I felt that I could come just about as close with the old Yashica Mat. So after a final $$$ repair, I sold the system.

The Koni Omega is well known for its ability to keep on going and going and going. Very robust camera, and I think you make a beautiful decision to go ahead and jump for it. The Omegon lens is second to none. I hope your search for extension tube(s) results in success.

Laurence, my search for extension tubes is probably misguided as it is
a rangefinder rather than an SLR, the only thing I've found is a clamp on
close-up filter, like they made for the C35 rangefinder (goes for ridiculous
for what it is). I'll be better putting my money on the 180 instead.

Love your Pentax 645 and Yashica work!

I've actually seen images from the 180 from a friend who lives in Seabeck, a little town on Hood Canal. He indicates that the 180 is his favorite lens for the K-O...but then he sort of smiles and says, "well, the other lenses are just as good...in fact they're all fantastic"! Cool

He indicates that he gets quite a few "stares" and questions about "that odd looking camera". And of course, also requests to "see the sensor".
