What a great series.
I would start saving for this lens but I find my 35mm f2.4 quite hard to focus...

The aperture of f/1.4 makes manual focusing this lens a breeze - but in case of problems the chipped adaptor really helps.
It is easy to take advantage of the deeper DOF of a 35mm lens when street photographing as compared with a tele lens. If you focus at anything outside the immediate nearest range - let's say at anything beyond 3 meters - a simple aperture of f/4 is enough to give you a more than comfortable DOF, that extends from approx. 2 meter to approx. 6-8 meters depending on the point. This is enough to shoot safe in most situations. And at f/4 the chipped adapter still works (at least for me), so I don't ever have to open wide for focusing - I can focus on the fly and stop when I hear the bip.
But even at wider apertures of f/2 or f/2.8 the DOF of the 35mm lens is enough to spare you those centimeters errors that would look horrible with a tele lens.
Most of the photos in this series have been done using this "on the fly" technique, and in some cases even without looking in the viewfinder, just focusing on the barrel writings and shooting at waist level, in order not to be noticed.

Cool stuff Orio...

Maybe I should think again. I definitely love teh Zeiss look on wide angles...

On an aside - do you have any interest in the nikon 14-24 f2.8G?

Causing a bit of a stir as people are starting to get hold of their copies...
It would of course be MF on a 5d Smile

Well, the focal lenght is certainly interesting. But honestly, for the type of photos I usually do, I don't think I really need a 14mm lens. A good 18mm would be enough - and I am keeping the eye on Ebay waiting for a good offer on a Zuiko 18mm., which I have learned to appreciate from your photos.

Plus as you know I am not a big fan of that self-moving plastic stuff... Wink
