A childhood friend of mine (we were almost of the same age and grew up in the same street) yesterday has shot his wife and his 19 years old daughter, and then killed himself.
We spent endless afternoons and evenings playing football on the street. I am completely shocked.
The news is on the national newspapers:

As Attila says, he had no right to take the lives of his family, but so often that's the way of it.
It's a shock when something like that happens - years ago an old friend of mine went berserk one day and killed two people. It was only when I read it in the newspaper I realised it was him. _________________ Dave

I am also friend with the brother of the wife...
Fact is, I remember the boy my old friend was... and it's so out of this world.
I can't stop thinking about it... it's something that makes you put a question mark on everything. _________________ _

Thats sad and weird. I can't imagine what could drive a father to do such a thing.
It's enough that my daughter cries sometimes (one year old, cries when she doesn't get what she wants), to make me feel awful. My instinct is to protect here from everything, I love her so much. _________________ Mattias Wirf

That is horrible. My hope is that the family and friends of those 3 find a way of dealing with this tragedy, and can find some peace. _________________ Dann Fassnacht

I would guess he was probably suffering from Clinical (or Major) Depression. He had a perception of the world which was completely real to him but which couldn't be seen or understood by anyone else. He didn't want to continue living in it and he didn't want to leave his family in it without him.
So sad, such tragic stories are becoming more common as the stress in our modern-day lives keeps on mounting. _________________ Lenses: M42 - CZJ 2.8/20, 2.4/35, 1.8/50, 2.8/50, 3.5/135 - Meyer/Pentacon 1.8/50, 2.8/50, 2.8/135, 4/200

This is a sad and tragic story, Orio. Things like this happen all over the world repeatedly and we cannot stop or really prevent them. But if it happens in your personal environment, it is even more difficult to cope with. I feel with the victims and their relatives.
