Got that big lens cheaply, claimed by seller to have fungus, but was only haze and some coating spots, cleaned it up in just 20 mins.

Anyone using it here? ZoneV (Markus)??

Looks like a heavy light cannon!?
Not easy to handle I suppose.

this is a 4 lens/2 element projector lens for Format 28x24, usable for APS sensors, quite sharp in center but falling off towards the edges.
You can unscrew the front element and try to get rid of the fungus.

Yes I have this lens since some time. Have used it only for few images, other lenses with about the same technical data (focal length, f-stop, ~design type) I like more.
But I am quite happy that those old simple designs for such fast focal lenses are still usefull on digital cameras - one does not need 10 lens elements for good images Smile

The 1.5 kg feels easy for me as well, I work a lot with heavier lenses.

yes, however the lenses of this type I had opened had a cemented group at the rear end, which would still qualify as a Petzval design.

CA actually less than expected, sharpness as expected (not VISIONAR level of course). Less blurriness in corners though (but using a mft camera, Pana GH4)

Quite useful for portraits at medium distances I guess...but a bit odd to handle due to its length.

Guten Morgen zusammen,

mit einem leichten Gelbfilter (Y1) läßt sich der CA noch weiter unterdrücken und die Kamera kommt im
White Balance immer noch auch Weiss/Neutral, Lichtverlust Faktor 1,2x mit Y1 also praktisch nichts.

Die 3rd Party Stativschelle für Canon mit 76mmm ID passt gut auf den Tubus, man kann dann in etwa
ausbalanciert arbeiten, siehe anbei in Chile das Set-up und den Tarantula Nebel mit diesem 2,1/200
single shot mit der Sony Nex.

Durch nur 4 Glas Luft Flächen hat die Optik etwas höheren Kontrast als die Visionare mit 12 Glas Luft Flächen,
also durchaus eine Alternative wenn es nicht auf Randschärfe bis in die Ecken ankommt.

Der Tarantula Nebel shot ist ein ca. 50% Crop um die unscharfen Sterne / wegen Koma in den Ecken weg zu bekommen

....bei der Lichtstaerke 2.1 kein Problem, der APS Sensor plus Crop macht dann KB Vollformat equivalent ca. 400-450 mm.

Hi all you good people, I got this gun a month ago and love it very much, still no sessions, just some test shots. Very promising and lighter than the most of the rest 25 lenses I bought recently (looks like the russians really knows how to build tanks).

I think to build some universal focusing setups, based on macro rails instead of helicoids. The cheap chinese ones are not extremely good (oil outside, loose) and not much sizes available, especially the big sized. Thread adaptes not available too... So at least I will try the rail idea.

Klaus, please which model is your collar? I see it fits perfectly.

I have purchased in between some different, still waiting them, I believed I can fit the lens 80mm diameter with some 1mm bold insider ring as filler, so at first time I will have 82mm for the Kipronar. Use of 78mm makes more sence, but I did not knew the last week which sizes exists (ebay shows 66 and 82 mostly). I purchased some 66s for the 62.5 lenses. Im not sure the collars will be my solution for the heavier lenses, nor the helicoids be my focusing system. Some things seems to be very custom, so bellows or universal screwing tubes (as well as universal lens support and tripod). Im not a mechanical engineer, so all this shall be very simpe as design and not so light in weight. The macro rails idea in general will be with fixed lens-tripod and the camera will be the moving part. The both variants are not about cutting the lens, and without the helicoids the infinity shallbe easier or closer to achieve. I dont care however about the infinity so much, as I like to shoot portraits and my daughter is after the macros. Still no time to complete the constructions, its my second month into MF things. Soon I hope to share some reverse engineering.

Carl Zeiss Jena Proj.Objektiv 200mm f2.1 on Canon 6D camera:

I use it sometimes for personal photoshoots and for weddings shooting. I use Eg-S focusing screen and little help from MagicLantern firmware for Canon.
Big nice lens with some character and nice bokeh.
