To use on my EOS 3 or my 40D would their be any advantage to the earlier auto or the later electric model?

In black MC doesn't mater auto or electric if you use on other cameras than Praktica VLC or PLC

I recently found a Flek 2.4 35mm . This was with a Praktica SLR (forgotten the model) a Tessar 2.8 50mm and a CJZ 3.5 135mm in a nice little ali case for the massive sum of ?10 which is about as near to a gift as is possible.
Now this Flecktogon is quite a lens.Ihave modified it to use on my Pentax K20 by fitting a cheap ebay flanged adapter and using some internal shims to retain infinity focus. Particularly easy to focus and
performance is out of this world. Pin sharp at max aperature, great colour and contrast and it will focus down to approx 150mm.Hopefully when the weather impoves I intend to have a "Zeiss day" and leave all my expensive AF glass at home and take only a Tessar, Pancolar, Flektogon and the 135mm.
Ive just realised that I could also have a Meyer and a Helios day at some stage.

Firstly, welcome Dino.
I used to have CZJ days too by taking Flek 4/20, 2.4/35, Pancolar 1.8/50, and Sonnar 3.5/135. But now I sold my beloved Flek 2.4/35 Crying or Very sad to buy Distagon Smile

Schnauzer, I used my Flek (I think was electric) on my 30D with great success. Love the colour and contrast. Better than some of Canon L lenses I rackon.

Thanks guys. I had heard the QC was better on the older lenses, but I know nothing about this glass.

All the M/F glass I used to have was canon. I bet this is better.

Actually I still have a 50mm f/ 1.8 and a 135mm f/2.8 FD mount for my old AE-1.

Someone lend me a Flek 35/2.4 (against a Spotmatic F + Jupiter-9) and I am a little bit disapointed with it: wide open on EOS 5D, corners are always softs.

More to come ASAP the sun goes back.

On APS-C is this lens great, also wide open. Look at this shot from yesterday (f2.4).

Here is the fullsize http://www.pbase.com/inghar/image/96300659/original

Nice cat !

I need to keep my daughter away from cat pictures, as she has the manic collector genes like her parents. Unfortunately I think she wants to collect cats.

Hallo!

Ingo, the Pic is great, wonderfull point of sharpness, is not easy by aperture 2,4.
The Sigma Cam works also great.
I am searching for a flek, too.

The flek, that i got, it has a bad back-lens, it´s damaged.
Is there anyone with a flek with bad frontlense? I would send it to you.

regards Peter

I might sell mine. I am not 100% happy with what I get from it. It's a good copy (the lens is very sharp), and close focusing is very good, but when I use it, I can't help missing my Distagon.

We are calling such cats "chats de goutti?res" (translated in roof gutter cats) because they are not pure race, but mixed up from all the cats lying around in the corner Smile

I think Flek 35 is the perfect cat lens after little trial and other cats lovers pics Cool

Now there is also sole macro move with the Sigma 28/2.8 Miniwide (I found one for my bro following that thread Laughing ), and now that the sky become clear, I guess we could find "the perfet Moon shot lens" ? Laughing

I guess that taking a shot of the full moon is one of those things where an f/8 500mm mirror lens is actualy useful. Small chance of donut-bokeh anyway ...
