I had a 28mm F2 arrive on my desk today - I don't expect it to be in the same class as the Distagon but it had the advantage of being very, very cheap (?3.99). I've not had a chance to try it yet but it's one of the Kiron made Vivitars (I think anyway - it's a 28 prefix) and they are supposed to be decent performers.

I've got a Kiron 2/28. That's a great lens. Congrats!

Thanks, Florent!

Beautiful pics, but I will have to content myself with the Yashica ML 28/2.8
for awhile longer. Luv that one building shot with the clock!

28 is Komine, 22 is Kiron.

The Yashica ML 2.8/28 is an excellent lens that is very close in performance to the Zeiss Distagon of the same speed.

It is also my opinion that on a crop sensor camera, especially if a 2x crop factor, the differences between lenses get smaller. This is especially true for wides, where often much of the optical performance difference lies in the corner/edge performance, an area of glass that does not affect the cropped sensor.

That is a rear view of our historical thermal building. On the right, you access to the laboratories, where the waters are pumped and purified.

The thermal building doesn't seem to have an ugly side to it, fantastic
structure!
