Had this lens for a while, decided to try it out, but discovered the aperture blades are stuck in the fully closed position. Anyone got any experience taking one of these apart to repair it? Looks different in construction to the later FL.

I assume you're familiar with Canon R lens operation?

In the 85 mm R and S, all the F/1,8 are 5/4 and all the F/1,9 are 6/4.

I've fiddled with the levers, to see if it needed cocking like the FD lenses, but not been able to get the blades to budge at all.

Remove rear groups (or front, I don't know how these Canons like it)
and a squirt of naptha on the blades?

I don't think the blades are stuck, they look free of oil, I think it's the linkage, but I sense I'm going to have to take it apart to find out.

Spent all day taking an FD 100-300/5.6 apart to clean of fungus, only to find one of the innermost elements has been so badly etched it feels like it's corroded, rough, so a waste of time. Oh well.

Use drop or 2 on q-tip/ear buds, no squirting!
