I know not every FD lens was available in Chrome Nose, but I do think I have most if not all listed below.
24/2.8, 28/3.5, 35/3.5, 35/2, 50/1.8, 50/1.4, 55/1.2, 55/1.2 AL, 100/2.8, 135/3.5

I just want to see if I missed any, I thought I seen an 85/1.8 in the past, but I can't find a single picture of one, and it would be the next one I want the most other than the 24/2.8 and 35/2.... I have the 28/3.5, 35/3.5, 50/1.4, 135/3.5 so far...

I'm not sure if there is a black Nose non SSC BL 85/1.8, I'll double check after I post this, I am tempted to get one and have the ring chromed to match. Edit: didn't see any, Canon museum has first FD in July 1970(135/3.5), and the first 85 in April 1974 the SSC 1.8, after a bunch of niche lenses, which doesn't make any sense to me, does this timeline look right? If you look at the lenses released in 71, but no 85???

As there was already an R 1.8/85mm (1961) and a FL 1.8/85mm (1964), Canon may have considered the FD 1.8/85mm not to be urgent. Whether the Canon Museum information is absolutely reliable is another question. For instance, both the FD 1.4/50mm and 2.8/24mm ("March 1971") are pictured without Chrome Nose, while in fact they had a Chrome Nose.
So i can't really help you ... but certainly some real Canon experts will add their comments soon Wink

The Chrome nose FD 2.8/24mm is massive, heavy beast (about 450g) - not unlike the early Minolta MC 2.8/24mm, which is more than 400g as well. Quite soon both lenses were replaced by much lighter versions. The early Minolta was so heavy because of its brass / alu helical mount (later versions are alu / alu), and i suspect the same for the Chrome Nose Canon FD 2.8/24mm. The Minolta brass / alu helical mounts are running very smoothly, even after 45 years ...

I had noticed that they had SSC lens pictures in the early lenses, not a huge deal, but you would think Canon of all organizations would get their own history right.

I don't mind the lens being heavy so long as it's well made, I bought a nFD 35-105/3.5-4.5, it's mount attaches to 3 tabs via screws, one tab has 2 screws, so 4 screws total, one tab is completely broken off, and the tab with 2 screws has one screw hole blown out... None of my breechlock lenses have any issue even close to that, and some of those look like they went through hell.

I only have three silver nose FD lenses, 35/2, 50/1.8, and 50/1.4. But I have two 2nd version FD 50/1.4 SSC. However, these two are not exactly the same. The earlier one (s/n335125) is 28 grams heavier than the s/n 958213 one, and their nose shapes are not the same. I also have an uncommon FD 50/1.8 s/n 950840 that has an aperture lock on the bottom. I find early all metal FD lenses very interesting.

My son has an FD 1.8/85 BL but I cannot remember if it is chrome nose or not - will check.
There is definitely a 2.8/24 FD BL without SSC - as I have one. A very good lens, and equally as good in its results as the FDn 2.8/24
