A very very hard-used lens that has some fungus inside on multiple elements.
Here are some samples from today

Very nice pictures - were the close-ups done with extension tube/s? _________________ Stephen

Thanks Stephen. No, no extension tubes used - the lens will focus to around 3 feet, and these were simply at about that distance.
The lens is a good performer in spite of its hard life.
Cheers

Nice ones! And it shows that fungus doesn't have to be the end of a lens! _________________ My Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantalrene/

This is a good lens. Color, contrast, sharpness... very correct. Depending on the light can be somewhat soft wide open, but this is something that a photographer can avoid using light to your advantage. I like it.
Happy shots! |

I just bought the FDn version of this lens which is optically identical. During our trip in the US I made some pictures in the botanic garden in Atlanta. I am very impressed by this lens. It is mixture of sharpness ,colour, contrast and nice bokeh. I dont't see any defaults.
( no sharpening)
This last one is not sharp.
