Would a Canon EOS 700D be a good choice for using manual (mostly M42) lenses? Are there any major limitations to choose a mirrorless instead?

I am not familiar with the 700D model, but Canon in general is a good choice for using MF lenses, i have an old 5D.

You can use M42, Yashica/Contax, Olympus OM, some PK and Exakta lenses, so it's not going to be boring! Wink

Of course, with mirrorless cameras the variety of mounts only gets better!

Not major limitations but a mirrorless can make possible to use Fd, mf Minolta, Ltm and some more lenses that don't go with any reflex mount. If you need fast AF in some situations and you will use mainly m42 lenses, it may be better to choose a canon reflex camera, but if you pretend to use only mf lenses in a wide variery, and you don't mind a smaller body or maybe less ergonomics, a mirrorless can give you more flexibility.
