Looks like the best can be done with low contrast & not so sharp lens. Is there something wrong with it? Has some appealing light handling characteristics which best usage you are migrating towards, given the better examples in the second image. Beautiful latest summer there!

Edit: very nice color rendering! Especially the difficult blush as in second image lower rightmost photo.

It is originally a video lens for a much smaller format, but with centered objects I like that effect a lot. And it has great contrast + color and very unusual close focusing capabilities for a 250mm lens!
