Recently I purchased a Nikkor-UD 20 mm 3,5.
His primary use will be on the F2, but I also want it on my Fuji S5.
It seems the lens is not fully converted to AI-s. It has rabbit ears but not the notch moving the apperture senzor on the S5.
But when you look at the pictures it can be seen that it has two tiny, thraded holes similar to the ones holding the rabbit ears but at the left of this.
What could be the purpose of the holes?
Can I attach there some sort of tab that will push the senzor on the S5? Where must this tab exactly begin for a 3.5 lens?

Since the aperture ring was filled down, the only way to convert it to AI is put some kind of tab on the end of the aperture ring.
Probably those holes were made for that.
Check this http://www.chr-breitkopf.de/photo/aiconv.en.html, it may help you put the AI tab on the exact position |

Thank you very much. It was very informative.
Now how I put ears to my modern AF lenses so I use them on the F2? |

I did similar to an old Nikkor years ago I used a piece of brass strip, you only need a few mm's.
To check where f3.5 is, use another AI lens and see where the halfway point between 2.8 and 4 is. Attach the brass so its edge is in the same place. half a mm either way's not going to make that much difference. The camera still reads the light coming in. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |

Some AF Nikkors have a couple of marks/holes on aperture ring on ƒ5.6 position to put those "rabbit ears".
Remember, "rabbit ears" are always on ƒ5.6 position. |

A lot of these old Nikkor lenses used to be converted to AI by filing down the aperture ring just like the one you have.
The two little holes were drilled to attach a small metal tab to interface with the AI coupler on the camera.
It looks like the tab on your lens fell off.
If you put on a new one, the lens will work fine. |

I thought about aluminium or a piece of stiff plastic, but the idea with brass is not bad either.
Problem is, where to get those tiny screws, especially that I don't know their thread dimension. |
