|
|
Hello everyone!
I think that some of you know my nickname --
My name is Stanley Homer in full - nickname TRIFOX.
I have been using this forum for one and half year, or so. I'd like to introduce something NEW today.
I have contacted Attila in the matter of publishing some article regarding my decision.
I have decided to build a site regarding SERVICING cameras, lenses and shutters they come from FILM ERA and make an offer to this FORUM.
I have found too many nice people on this forum their are actively using stuff from previous times.
I have got a really useful contact on repairman in Slovakia and we quickly decided a nice cooperation based on trust and confidence.
Camera Service One
This will be our official name -- we shall see, if it's been a good choice
WHO WE ARE.
We are two-men-band. Shortly, the repairman and I. He's main role is repairing and servicing stuff around cameras and lenses. My part is communication and jobs around the web site There is nothing else between us only EXPERIENCE and sometimes endless dialogs about cameras and lenses.
Let me describe his capabilities in first.
NUMBER 15 000...
.. is approximately a number of all things they have gone through the hands of the repairman.
He's been servicing cameras, shutters, lenses for over 8 years. He's a fine mechanic and professional watch repairman. He started his career with servicing camera equipment 8 years ago. He is able to repair TOO MANY cameras, shutters or lenses (with some limits, of course) in FULL.
Well, there are some exceptions we'd like to describe on our website.
Basically, we wouldn't offer servicing electronic parts (i.e. AF zooms or so) or some electronic parts in manual cameras (electronic shutters - later film camera models, etc.).
We are mainly focused on mechanic faults.
CUPOG COLLECTIBLE CAMERAS - and his 'repairman behind the curtain'
"I bought 3 or 4 times from him. Top notch items, well described and perfectly working.
I guess he's a repairer, that's why his items can be sometimes scratched, bruised, etc but they work like clockwork."
Alessandro Guerani - MFLENSES.COM member...
see this link: http://forum.mflenses.com/cupog-collectible-cameras-t11140.html.
Why have I mentioned CUPOG?
I personally didn't know about CUPOG anything. Only that fact he's located in Slovakia.
And the repairman who's being introduced by me now is the same person who has been repairing CUPOG's stuff for long time.
Thousands items of CUPOG's stuff sold on ebay - I would say almost every single one - got through this man and nobody had known him.
Taking this into consideration, we can guarantee a good quality services because of his previous experience at CUPOG.
Range of our services.
Cameras -- the list is too long ...... and long .. large format, medium format (SLR, TLR etc.) , 35 rangefinders, 35 SLR, microcameras, others .. too many brands..
Lenses -- mostly MF only (Leica, Zeiss (Jena + Oberkorchen), Canon FD, Nikon, Minolta, Konica, -- no AF or lenses they have electronic parts -- which DOESN'T mean that mechanical parts can not be repaired. Or, for instance, the Pancolar electric can not be repaired.
We won't offer RECOATING (it's too difficult) and also SCRATCH REMOVAL from glass element. Any repair will be discussed before sending of item.
Shutters -- yes.. too many .. Our repairman loves especially SYNCHRO-COMPURs,
Microscopes - propably yes.
Canon FD conversion to EF mount - we have started this project 2 months ago and -- the offer will be published in full on website.
One special offer: Flektogon 50 (for Pentacon 6) spots removal - this is one special 'cosmetic job' also in our offer available.
and EVEN MORE...
Accessories -- this will be also included in our services but later on.
Shipping and costs
We understand that some manual lenses or film cameras are SO CHEAP and easy-to-get on ebay.
Therefore, the most effective way how you can repair something is -- buying another item.
It doesn't make a sense to send Helios 44 for overhaul. Some old film cameras are going very cheap and they are in very good condition.
But, if you have some Contax lens (I have got some of them) or Plaubel-Makina, Lecia or so.. then you can contact us.
Any collectible items they are worth of service is also a challenge for us.
We are located in two countries -- UK and Slovakia -- any shipping within EU - to Slovakia.
Any items received outside of Europe (US, Asia, others) they should go to me - UK. All communication -- me..- prompt email - in a few hours max.
Our aim is to be well-established service available worldwide.
We are working on prices and they may differ.
Just one example: we set up the basic price for servicing of some lens at 50 EUR + P&P.
But it may go over, if any further jobs will be required or there will be more effort developed.
We also set up the price for Canon FD conversion to EF mount at 150 EUR, so far.
No item will be received before some estimate or describing of problem is being done.
The expected start of services is by the middle of the September and the website should work FULLY (I hope in 99 percent at least around the September 2009 as well..
Any questions or comments are welcome!
Have a nice day, evening, night, morning.. to ALL.
Stanley Homer - alias Trifox --
I have also sent this article to News and Announcements... _________________ several crappy lenses...
