and another one with Canon LTM 1.4/50 from the same shoot, not much flare, but of course again deliberately taken against the low sun
I like how the flare makes the bamboo pole almost float

penjor by Andreas, on Flickr

pole? it's a socalled 'penjor' in Bali, see: http://id.indo.com/featured_article/hindu_penjor.html
the one seen is a much more simple penjor than typically set along the streets during 'Galungan', the biggest festival,
this one was set up in front of a small rice field shrine during the festival of 'Saraswati'

Bali right, WOW, this is great, the temple entrance guardian's, dvarapala's threatening spirits gushes forth in fiery smokes from his nostrils, truly amazing!!

star shaped flare from my great Volna-9, on Pentax K7

more stars from the Volna-9

I don´t know exactly why, but I love this result, it looks good to me. Flare producing lack of contrast, giving a retro look. Like these modern Instagram filters.

Got lucky with this Super Takumar 24mm f3.5

Folk are always singing to high heavens about how wonderful the flare control is.. PIGS ARSE! It will flare up like anything if you point it stupidly.

This though gave me a nice warm glow in the centre of the image to counteract the blues and greens.

Nice one Takumar Laughing

Shot at f8 on a Pentax K5.
