It depends of the max trigger voltage that your DSLR can take ...
Your flashgun seems to have about 21 volts (see here : www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html), not very safe, according to the site. _________________ The gear I use : Samsung GX1s, a few Tamron, Pentax, East German and Russian lenses (Modded Canon G2 for IR).

I won't use it as is Mattias.
If you're desperate on using that flash, you need only to build a simple adapter to isolate it from the camera. You can use this schematic: (If you need help, please ask):

Thanks for you answers, I forgot to post.
If you can explain further and it's easy maybe I'll give it a try, but I have to admit when I look at the scheme I haven't a clue on what that is I'm not very handy. Maybe I should just clean out the battery acid and sell it... or use ti with the Spotmatic it came with.

I use Vivitar 285HV flash after 30 yrs still keep it's value , powerful flash and safe on DSLR. Be careful not all safe exactly 285HV number is important. Available at KEH.com around 80 USD. _________________
