Took the AD2 46a lens out for an airing yesterday and was very happy with the image quality it has produced on the Nikon D3

The 46A has, according to the modern photography test results on adaptall-2.com, higher resolution than both the SP 52A "macro" 70-210mm and the vaunted SP 19AH 70-210mm! And certainly one of the best value vintage MF 70-210's given one can be picked up for a tenner or so with a bit of browsing.

I use the performance guides a lot when I am using the AD2 lenses I have

With the 46a, my own observations totally agree with the guides in that this lens definitely has a sweet spot at f11, with superb resolution stats
