Any ideas? My reserves ran dry Sad

Other early CCCP lenses (I checked my Jupiter-3, Jupiter-8 and Jupiter-9) have corresponding SN / manufacturing date... why is Helios-44 a exception?

Here's a thought. My 44 was made by 'MMZ' which didn't begin making lenses until 1957!
Perhaps different manufacturers had different ideas about serial numbers?

The first two serial numbers denoting the year of manufacture does not apply to MMZ-make lenses. They used a different system.
