I was curious if somebody knew which DSLR had the above. When my
eyes start to go, this will become very important! Laughing

Pentax K10D is nice. As is the Canon 5D (for obvious reasons). Leica M8 and a hotshoe finder (or you could just buy new eyes instead). Otherwise shoot film and buy an Olympus OM-2n with its viewfinder that looks like a cinema!

Or perhaps, just have a girlfriend 1/3 my age take the pictures..... Wink

Thanks Puplet, is the OM-1's viewfinder smaller, dimmer, than the OM-2N? Curious. I really like the cinema analogy!

Not sure about the difference between an OM-1 and the OM-2n: I remember researching it a while back (before I bought my OM-2n) and deciding that the OM-2n was better. Can't think why now...

Availability of batteries?

There is NO difference whatsoever between the viewfinder of an OM1 and an OM2 (including -N variants). All parts in the system: screens, prisms, eyepiece optics... are identical and interchangeable.

They did come out with still-brighter screens with the OM3, 4 and 2S; these screens can be swapped out into an OM1 or OM2 but may affect the accuracy of the viewfinder meter display. In use, I don't see a lot of difference between the two screen series anyway.... they all look like a cinema. These were exceptionally large and bright back when people were USED to large, bright finder displays.

Or you can buy the Canon's flagship Mark III.
I've never seen a viewfinder so huge. Almost twice as 5D's

I'm doing fine with heavy eyeglasses (-4.25 and -7.25 ) and my Pentax *ist DL.

I did hear that the K10D or ist DS are better because of the pentaprism instead of pentamirror...
