I don't understand the term unsharpened?
Was it a Raw image file with default sharpening turned off? _________________ Pentax K10D & K100D. Many Tamron Adaptall SP lenses, Fujinon f4.5 400mm. A loved Lens Baby 2, Lubitel triplet +++ and many film cameras. Mainly a Digital user inc G5, GR2

I'm referring to the USM or sharpening filter in photoshop, which I normally use on most of my images.
but since this was meant as a sample of this particular lens, I didn't sharpen it extra so it shows the quality of the lens objectively
