Not bad at all for a non-macro lens...

a pretty heavy crop of course (I didnt use extension tubes)

unsharpened...at f8

I'm sorry but why would you not sharpen it?
I don't understand the term unsharpened?
Was it a Raw image file with default sharpening turned off?

I'm referring to the USM or sharpening filter in photoshop, which I normally use on most of my images.

but since this was meant as a sample of this particular lens, I didn't sharpen it extra so it shows the quality of the lens objectively Smile
