... B+W (filters) is nothing more and nothing less than Schneider Kreuznach?

I found out about it today.

NOW I understand why I am impressed by the difference in optical quality whenever I mount a B+W filter on my lenses.

Yes - they combined back in 1985 - one company bought the other (I forget which).

One other little thing is that the lens maker 'Isco' was a subsidiary of Schneider-Kreuznach - set up to help increase production I believe.

Wonder if there's any truth in the belief that a B+W filter is best for German/Russian lenses while a Hoya is more suited to Japanese glass.....?

I've got two S-K lenses - Xenon 1.9/50 and Tele-Xenar 3.5/135.
