Because there are no screws on the mount, and the mount seems to go inside the barrel.

I think you're waiting for the same lens. Maybe you will have a better idea.

Anyway, my mod is on stanby for the moment, don't want to trash that lens.

Ah yes, you need to undo the five screws that are not there .... light sabre?

More seriously, I assume it was assembled from the other side, ie you need to get the glass out probably. But only if you are sure that you won't want the lens as a lens ...

Well, I'm good at disassembling things. Reassembly is another matter.
