Trying to get some of my shots organized by lens. This is a Curve Billed Thrasher in flight, captured by the NEX6 and an Asanuma 200mm 3.5 lens.

Birds with MF lenses are a headache, but you have done exceptionally well here.
Great sharpness - well done.
I understand that Asanuma lenses were mostly Tokinas.
Yours is excellent
OH

Thanks Igor and Mo! OH, yeah, you said it, birds are a pain with MF! The Asanuma in question was one of the first MF lenses I acquired, and it is a very good lens. 200mm seems like a focal length where a lot of the Japanese lens makers excelled. The lens looks like 70s vintage so I assumed it was a Tokina. It's in Minolta MD mount.

Bird in flight!
That's a test of skill and luck with MF.

Definitely Luis. I usually don't even try to catch BIF with mf.

Had this lens nearby today when a big red finch landed on my wall. Still impressed and this was one of the first manual focus lenses I acquired.

I am also reposting the original shots from this thread and pic of the lens for historical purposes post crash.
