A comparison between my Arsat N 50/1.4 lens and Nikkor "old K" 50/1.4 lens. The Arsat is newer, 7/6 elements, Nikkor is older 7/5 elements version.

Nikon D700 body, all pics wide open, no PP, just resized.



Arsat has shorter FL than Nikkor. Nikkor vignettes more. Arsat has also more pronounced barrel distortion.

1. The center. Arsat is sharper.


2. The border. Nikkor is sharper, but darker


3. Nikkor has more rounded OOF highlights


4. Bokeh. In my eyes, the same.
