I thought it would be fun to adapt this lens to EOS mount. I drilled a body cap and mounted. It has a short working distance of 1.5 to 6 feet. Not really useable, maybe macro on bellows..... I will post some images soon as I will be playing with it tonight. Has anyone else tried these lenses?

The $3 on the lens and sacrificing of a body cap is not a big loss. I thought what the hell, it's always fun to do surgery Twisted Evil

The Argus lenses aren't bad on the Argus, if you ever want to try a truly cheap camera. And its just the right sort of camera to raise eyebrows, if you are into that.

Argus C-3 with Cintar lens -

These are the photo shop jpg scans, I should do my own scans and post-process.

I have a couple of spare Argus lenses, I might try your idea. 6' is good distance for portraits.

I did a head shot today with it and it's suprisingly decent. I am going to play in a little bit and I will post a few.

Here a few HotWheels that belong to my son. They don't move as quick as him.........Oh yeah, the working distance isn't quite what I stated earlier- it's more like 2.5 to 4.5-5 foot.

Not a very useable les, but still fun to play with Very Happy

Seems low quality too.

Attila, you a very right about the quality. I didn't expect more for a lens that won't bring more than $3 Very Happy Plus, it was purely experimental.

nice experiment shad
you should post all your experiment, they are very interesting
but you should give some conclusion and advice from your experience
we are not always able to judge from samples

Poilu,
I will keep that in mind for the future!
As far as this lens goes, while it is always fun to experiment and try new things, some lenses should be left alone. If this lens wasn't so dirt cheap, I would have been very dissapointed with the results.
I was unable to reach anything remotely close to infinity and the image results were less than acceptable. I do not recommend using this lens for anything on a DSLR. It may be possible to get decent results on the camera it was intended for, I can not say as I do not have an Argus C body nor do I intend to purchase one.
After this, If anyone has an Argus C body and are feeling the void of not having this lens, I will gladly supply you with a fairly clean but beat up copy for nothing more than shipping Laughing

I will be doing more experiments soon as I have been playing Dr. Frankenstein with several folding cameras Twisted Evil Stay tuned for more posts Wink
