Anyone used both Nikon D200 & D300 ?

Has anyone used both?

I'm thinking if I'm going to part exchange my D200 for a D300 it makes sense to do itbefore the D90 comes out and the s/h value of the D200 drops.

The big question is is it worth it? I don't shoot high ISO's that much - generally 100-200 only. Is the dynamic range much better? How effective is the anti-CA processing?

Any thoughts?

Richard,
You will shoot higher ISO once you see what it can do. It allows more possibilities. The snake shot (can be seen in roadside zoo thread) was taken with ISO 2000. Snake was behind glass and flash shot would have been difficult.

If those 600 quid won't hurt you, go for it. You will get a new camera with more possibilities.
I only know the D200 and I think it's great, but what I have read about the D300 it's even better.
Perhaps comparable to the EOS 30D and 40D - only some but essential improvements.

My cousin has had both. I have used them both. I think that while the D200 is a very nice camera, its not in the same league with the D300. He left his D300 with me for a couple of weeks this spring while he was really busy. I really couldn't see much difference between the images that it got and my 40D but it had some features that I wish the 40D had. The auto ISO goes down to 100 on the D300 while the 40D only goes to 400. The LCD screen blew my 40D right out of the water. I never really did a high ISO comparison between the 2 but I remember the D300s high ISO was pretty impressive.

Oh and to the point - I would make the trade just to get full frame, without even considering other performance issues.

The D300 does have a full frame CMOS sensor.
