Any serious benefits from a ring flash ?

Usually lower powered than a conventional flash thus very suitable for macro/close-up. That and the illumination is more even due to it not being a single point light source mounted above the lens like a conventional unit.

And usually more expensive too.....

I saw some cheap noname brand flashes like Centon etc, how about that ?
