Hi !

I've just bought a Samyang Fisheye 8mm f2.8 in Samsung nx mount and the focus ring is off. If set to infinity, images are blurry. If set to about 2 metres, things at infinity are sharp.

Has anyone got a clue if infinity calibration is possible on this lens or not ? If yes, how can it be done ?

I know I could just remember where the infinity is in reality, put it there and forget it but it is not normal having to do this. A lens should be properly calibrated at the factory.

PS : I am not talking about the 8mm f3.5, which is very easy to calibrate.

Thanks a lot.
Jay

Hi !

Forget the question.....easy fix ! I took the bayonet off (three screws) and put a really thin paper shim underneath the original brass one. Problem fixed : when I set the focus on 30 cm and shoot something at 30 cm (with a ruler to measure) it is dead sharp, and when shooting at infinity, it is now sharp. Meaning I can just set it on infinity and leave it that way.

Cheers
