I've just finished scanning some negs and discovered something interesting.
There were a couple shots I was going to write-off showing. By a fluke I spotted one of them in the preveiw scan and said wait a minute.
The raw scans were much better that the prints (again). Now I did tweak them with a little brightening where the photo-finishers seem to have gone the route of doing them high contrast
So here are the comparison shots - the A will be the print and B the negative . . .

I guess this just reinforces the idea of scan from negs whenever possible!
