Hi,

Anyone familiar with how to get the focusing stop screw back on the lens?

The stop screw unscrewed itself, and the whole front of the lens came off. I found the screw, but how to get it back in its position beats me. Any ideas?

I have no problem putting the lens back together again, but how do I attach the screw that will provide the hard stops when focusing and prevent the front of the lens to come off?

If I attach the screw, then I can't put the front part on. If I put the front part on, then I can't attach the screw.. catch 22.

There must be a way to do it, e.g. pull out the helicoid from the front part. But I don't know if that'll ruin the lens instead.

Ok, so I finally managed to repair this Angenieux 17-68/2.2 Type L2 lens.

I found some M1.6 grub screws that fitted the hole for the stop screw. I had to sandpaper the screw down a bit. If it's too long the zoom will only zoom between 17-30mm, and not the full 17-68mm range, so it would function not only as a focus stop screw but a zoom stop screw too..

All I had to do was to remove the front lens, put the focus barrel back on, and fasten the screw that way.

It's so easy when you know how Smile
