So am I Paul.
As I said I have the lens, I shot f/16, tripod, remote, mlu, no that DOF, nope.
I asked the OP if he used any stack software, no he didn't.
I still try to figure out what I'm doing wrong. |

Paul and Himself (would like to call you by your name, or otherwise say Youself...), do you use flash? I try to shoot at 1/125" at least, or rather 1/160" to 1/180". That will stop all motion. I guess - no offence meant at all - that most macro shots are ruined by a small DoF combined with motion blur. One has to fire instantly when the subject is in focus, because the smallest movement of the camera brings the subject OoF. 1/180" does that for me, and this is impossible without flash. My macro skills began to grow once I started using flash. As you can see in several of the shots in my macro gallery, the Dof is really thin, and a forward-backward movement of the camera will bring larger parts of the subject OoF.... (The ones after the low-key photos are this seasons examples, shot handheld, with the use of flash).
Don't know if this helps? _________________ Rense
