Leica R and C/Y lenses should be more cheaply convertible to Pentax than with the Leitax offerings.
I hope somebody will come up with some offering..Alex? Wink

cheers,
Andreas

The LeicaR to Nikon conversion mount is already available ...

I have converted 2 of my LeicaR lenses to Nikon, a 90mm/2.8 and a 35mm/2.8

The below pic is of my Leica 90/2.8

The LeicaR to M42 should be ready anytime soon.

Not sure what the status is of the C/Y to M42 or Nikon

A cheap way to convert the mount is to use a flanged M42 adapter as the replacement mount; I did this when I first converted my Sonnar 135mm f/2.8. In the end I got a custom-made M42 mount from David at Leitax, however, because I wanted to convert the lens to M42 mount for more versatility. His mounts are definitely high quality precision parts, so there is some justification for the high price… But I agree that it's best to have cheaper alternatives to lower the threshold for accessing this wonderful glass.

WOW, what a surprise Alex,
and this looks very promising!
For M42, could one try to change the mount with a flanged M42 adapter? I have been thinking.
A more affordable set as offered by Leitax, and if it was only for a few popular lenses, would be a sensation!

thank you Arkku
I would love to do a conversion myself, but lack convidence to do it and thus feel a high treshhold to venture into Leica and Y/C land, you spotted that so right Arkku, and it must be true for many. ( I had tried to convert my F mount Vivitar f2/24mm to M42 with a flanged adapter but did not succeed. Maybe I should try to get help online with posting photos of the lens Wink ) There aren't any cheap Leica R lenses one could get to try, are there? C/Y there are some Yashicas..

Is this conversion auto-aperture, or stop-down?
